Today marks the beginning of the final week of registration for the North Dakota Senior Games. The event, which will be held in Fargo August 17 through 19, is open to participants ages 50 and better. Throughout the three days of competition, more than 20 events over 14 sports will take place within the communities of Fargo and West Fargo. The deadline to register is August 1.
“We are excited to see the Senior Games come back to North Dakota,” said Fargo Park District Executive Director Joel Vettel. “Over recent months, one of our initiatives has been to attract world-class events to the community, and we feel the North Dakota Senior Games fits well within that plan.”
The North Dakota Senior Games is part of the National Senior Games Association. The National Senior Games are held biennially with participants qualifying via a state games competition. Participants do not have to qualify in the state in which they reside. The previous National Senior Games were held in Birmingham, Ala., and the 2015 games were in Minneapolis, Minn.
