The Fargo Park District is opening the sledding hill this weekend on Saturday at Mickelson Park, 901 Oak Street North, Fargo. Sledding takes place on the Oak Street Levee. This sledding hill also has a warming house space for sled rentals and concessions.
There is no charge to use the sleds. Checking out a sled requires either a picture ID or a $20 deposit that will be returned when the sled is returned. Sledders can bring their own sleds. No metal saucers, toboggans, sleds with metal runners or cardboard pieces are allowed. Sled at your own risk. A complete list of rules is available at FargoParks.com.
Regular hours are Monday-Friday from 4:00-8:00 pm and Saturday-Sunday from 12:00-8:00 pm, pending snowfall. Hours are subject to change according to weather conditions. Warming Houses will be closed earlier than scheduled in the evenings if the temperatures reach -10 degrees or colder or wind chills at -30 or greater.
The Fargo Park District has also now opened the sledding hill at Edgewood Chalet, 19 Golf Course Avenue North, Fargo. The old clubhouse is open as a warming facility with an interior fireplace and snack bar. The sledding hill is open Monday-Friday 12:00-6:00 pm and Saturday-Sunday from 12:00-8:00 pm.
